One of my most favorite holiday sides growing up was Ocean Spray Jellied Cranberry Sauce. You know the kind – the ruby-red cylinder of solid jelly that came pre-marked with it’s “just slice here” ridges from the can. It made a distinct noise as it wiggled free and slid from the can. A jiggly wedge tops every single bite of my holiday dinners.
It’s extremely easy to make a really good cranberry sauce at home. I like mine spiked with a bit of orange but if you’re more of a purist, replace the OJ with water and leave out the zest and ginger.

I just wanted to drop a quick note telling you how much I love your blog! I’ve made TONS of things from it and everything has turned out perfect. I’ve even got my mom reading it (she didn’t even know what a blog was) because how you classify things with WW points; she loves it! Thanks so much for all your great recipes — keep ’em coming!
I was surprised to learn how easy homemade cranberry sauce is too, but sometimes nothing can beat the canned jellied stuff! I like to have both when we host holiday’s at our place. Your’s looks great!
Now that is a mighty fine looking cranberry sauce. Yum!
haha, I love the canned stuff too! When I make it myself, I keep it simple like this.
Purist nothing! I love the addition of the orange – this looks delicious!
Our family loves the cranberry sauce from a can too. Maybe I can fancy it up this year for the Holidays. This recipe looks great!
Looks simple and delicious. I also like how your site is all written in the same modern font. How did you do it?
Wow, that looks yummy
Thanks for the recipe- I’m going to serve both varieties of cranberry sauce this year…canned and fresh. It’s our family tradition!
