I’m from Oporto in Portugal and here, by the seaside I can have a “francesinha” for dinner right by the sea with all my friends and family. After that, usually, there should be a long and nice walk, not only to spend time together with people we love but also to try to lose all the extra calories that we earned during dinner. “Fracesinha” is a very typical dish here, but if you go see how it’s made you’ll understand what i’m talking about!! 😛 We can enjoy the warm weather while on vacations… It’s one of my favourite months!

I LOVE July because that is the month that my husband and I used to take our road trips! It is the ultimate “summer” thing to do in my opinion. We had few obligations and could easily be spontaneous. The parades! Between the 4th of July parades and the big hometown celebrations all the little towns around me seem to have during July, it never stops (and I love it!)

Favorite thing about July is my best friend’s FIL’s annual Fourth of July party. We have been going for years, which is unusual, as everyone else is family. Guess by now, we are too!
The best thing about July is our Annual Hog Roast. My husband and I host a huge party with tons of yummy food and a 130 lb pig. Less than a week away – can’t wait.

My favorite thing about July…my wedding anniversary! We have two little ones, so when our family goes out to dinner, it’s ususally kid friendly. On our anniversary, Nana and Papa watch the kids so we can treat ourselves to a nice dinner out!

My favourite part of July is wandering in farmer’s markets for local veggies and fruit. There is A LOT of eating going on this month!

I love summer vacation. No, I don’t get one but I love that my son gets to be off and come to camp at the college where I work. We get to have lunch together and I have planned surprises each day for him. Ice Cream one day, a favorite candy on another, fruit salad on the third. We recently had a baby so it is nice to have mommy and 5 year-old time together.

My favorite thing about July is our towns annual “Wettest Parade in the West” . We all get up early and head out with as many gallons of water and the biggest water guns you can find. Dad makes his breakfast burritos for us to eat while waiting for the parade to start. The fun usually starts with a firetruck full of firemen and their families, its a blast getting wet and wetting others. You end up chilly and soaking wet and having the best morning you can imagine!
My favorite thing about July is the fact that our youngest son was born on July 4. We get to have a double celebration!

Ooooohhh….barbecue! I brush my favorite barbecue sauce on hotdogs before they go on the grill. The sugars carmelize and the sauce sticks to the dog…mmmmmm! THAT’S July to me!
