It’s the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways! On the 8th day of Christmas, there were cute aprons.
I am a recovering apron hoarder. I still have a small (not small) weakness when it comes to seeing a cute apron hanging on a rack. But through compromise, I know have only 1 drawer in the kitchen for aprons. I can stuff as many aprons in there I can, but as soon as the drawer won’t close – it’s game over.
To enter the giveaway, simply answer the following question in the comments below: If you’re celebrating Christmas, or just cooking up a feast for two, when does the “big meal” happen – Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Update: The random generator thingy has spoken: Alaina with comment #373 and Jess B. with comment #193 are the winners! Please check your email for instructions on claiming your prize. The elves are waiting!
We celebrate Christmas Eve with a big dinner with my family and then repeat a big Christmas Day lunch with Jason’s family. And then it’s diet time.
You can earn up to 4 extra entries by:
– Tweet about the giveaway (it’s easy, just click here!) and leave the link to your Tweet in the comments.
– Leaving a separate comment below that you like us on Facebook.
– Leaving a separate comment below that you follow the blog’s Instagram feed.
– Leaving a separate comment below that you follow my mad recipe pinning and house projects that I wish I could pay someone to do for me on Pinterest.
(Extra entries can only be counted if left as a separate comment – your comment # is your entry.)
Good luck!
The fine print:
– Maximum of five (5) entries per person.
– Giveaway ends at 12:01am (Texas time!) on December 13th.
– Winner will be selected by one of those cold, soulless, unfeeling random number generator thingies and announced on this post after selected.
– Two (2) winners will receive an ASD Living Apron in style Fantasia (maximum retail value of prize = $35).
– Prize must be claimed within 7 days or it will be forfeited.
– Winning “extra entry” comments can be subject to verification.
– Prize can only be shipped to a US address.
– All prizes are provided by Confections of a Foodie Bride, unless stated otherwise.
– Official giveaway rules can be found here.

We have always done a big Christmas Eve dinner of homemade manicotti and other Italian specialties! Yum! When I was little, my dad would make the pasta from scratch, but now that doesn’t happen every year.

We also have two meals, one with my side on Christmas Eve – the “traditional” Italian Christmas Eve dinner (where traditional equals fried seafood) – and then a dinner with my husband’s side on Christmas Day. This year, I’m starting a new tradition of brunch for my husband, son and me on Christmas morning – just a quiet time for us to sit back and enjoy eachother and then a good Christmas movie (Home Alone).

I think we’re having big dinners both days, with two different sets of people.
We have two big meals. First, a big breakfast, prior to touching a Santa gift…with the whole family gathered around the table and the children bouncing with excitement. The adults anticipate this meal, the children anticipate peeling the paper off a Santa gift and gladly clear the table to move onto the next step. The second big meal is late afternoon, with our once a year prime rib and all the trimmings…followed by trays of incredible Christmas cookies. My mouth waters just thinking about it!
Both!

I wish it were that simple. We’ve got a Christmas marathon that stretches through his Uncle’s Christmas soiree (very chi chi) on the 23rd, to Christmas Eve with a million cousins, to very traditional Christmas on Christmas with his family, to a Boxing day with my dad’s family. I’m never going to need to eat again.
I’m Jewish so it’s usually Christmas day dinner at the Chinese restaurant 🙂 But really I have been dying for a cute apron!!
We have three big meals in my family. A huge one on Christmas Eve at the great-grandparent’s where many aunts, uncles and cousins squeeze into the small farmhouse. We do our big dinner on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is as big a day as THE day with the decorating of cookies for Santa with the kids and several traditions we maintain. We sit together with hot chocolate before bed and we each have a poem for Christmas, each kid and each adult. We sing and we end the night with a prayer for all those soldiers who cannot be with their familes and to bless all the children of the world. I love that night as much as I do the big day.

Both days- different families.
Our big meal is on Christmas Day. All 17 of us are usually together!
We always do Christmas Day if schedules allow. May not happen this year as two family members are in the medical profession and we need to work around their schedules:)
We usually do Christmas Eve dinner with my husband’s family and then Christmas breakfast and dinner with my family. We haven’t branched out on our own yet…

Christmas eve & Christmas day are both big meal days – celebrating with different sides of the family.
My family doesn’t do anything to big around Christmas. There’s always a delicious breakfast on Christmas day and a couple holiday favorites for dinner.

We travel back to Rochester, NY every year for Christmas, where my brother and I grew up. Even though he lives in Boston and I am in Memphis, with our parents in Delaware and east TN. We still all go back and stay with family friends and eat dinner Christmas eve, because when we did live there still we always had Christmas eve dinner with them!

It has been on Christmas Eve for many years as it’s the best time to get the whole family together.

I confess I don’t even own an apron, this one is just very cute. When I was growing up we had the Christmas meal around lunch time on Christmas day but now with my own family the Christmas meal is around dinner time on Christmas day.
