Chocolate is heavenly, strawberry shortcake – angelic. Light, fluffy, and moist – angel food cake is just guilt-free enough to eat two servings for dessert 🙂
Light, fast, and cheap – strawberry shortcake is one of the easiest desserts to whip up in the world.
Strawberry Shortcake Trifle

Nothing beats a trifle of fresh strawberries layered with angel food cake and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1 angel food cake
- 1 pound strawberries, washed, hulled and chopped
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- Heavy cream
Instructions
- Add sugar to the strawberries, toss, and set aside for 15-20 minutes (longer if you can).
- Whip the cold cream until soft peaks form, set aside. Run half of the strawberries through the food processor until smooth and mix with the remaining chopped berries.
- Tear cake into 2 inch pieces and layer in a red wine glass (or mini trifle bowls). Spoon strawberry sauce over cake and top with whipped cream. Repeat twice more to build the trifle. Yields 2 trifles.

Following the title of your previous post, you need to take your own advice: put a label on these things 😀
Georgeous pic! Delicious dessert! After my rice pudding and strawberry sauce last week, I don’t know how I am going to handle this…
I will gladly take one of those off your hands. I can not wait to bit into some strawberry shortcake this year.
Beautifully done!
