Or tomorrow. Or next Thursday.
Sometimes there’s nothing that sucks the creativity out of me faster than hearing the word, “chicken.” I don’t know what it is. But if I could get back all the time I’ve wasted in my adult life, spent just staring blankly at a package of chicken breasts or thighs, I’d have fewer of those little lines around my eyes. And I’d quite possibly be thinner.
So as I was staring blankly at that pack of chicken breasts the other day, I clicked over to the recipe index (you know, the one that has been under construction for like 6 months?) and saw ~10 chicken recipes. And one of those was a turkey ! 10? That’s it? I’ve been blogging for nearly 5 years – where are the rest?!
One nice, long 3-hour nap later – toddlers really are the best! – I have a complete chicken recipe index. 40 poultry recipes (there are a couple of turkey somethings-or-another in there). Many are light & healthy. Some are not. And a few circa late 2006 desperately need to be rephotographed. 😳
Possibly funny, possibly shameful – I stuck it on my Firefox bookmark bar. Now if anyone catches me staring vacantly at a package of chicken… perhaps I need a little more help than just inspiration 🙂
I totally do that all the time. I stare at it in my fridge then close and reopen hoping and praying a magical dinner fairy comes out and tells me what to make with it. Now I have this. You’re like my magical dinner fairy. lol
Chicken is one of my favourite meats but I also find it quite inspiring at times – thank you so much for sharing this, it will make life so much easier!
I’m new to the food blogging world and have been immensely grateful for all the fantastic recipes/ideas I’ve found and used in past couple months. I made your Honey-Glazed Chicken, Peach, and Sweet Potato Skewers a couple weeks ago and we enjoyed them so much, I made them again about 5 days later. I loved the pumpkin pie spice and the grilled pecans. Yum! I’ve experienced the same thing when it comes to chicken, so thank you for adding creativity to my kitchen and joy to my taste buds!
I am the SAME way with chicken. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve opened my freezer and stared at packages of chicken thighs, at a loss. This will help, thanks!
So, I don’t eat chicken, but can I just say that seeing this post (and all your fantastic pictures!) is completely inspiring? Everything looks delicious!
LOVE this!! Chicken can get boring, but not with this type of index! 🙂
I hate the idea of chicken, but for some reason I always like it when I make it!
What is your favorite recipe here? I’d love to give it a try!
